1. What this policy covers
This policy describes the current FreeAppIcon website and icon generator. The app processes your images on your device. It does not require an account, offer a cloud image library, or collect payment details.
Local image processing is separate from the connection information involved in loading any hosted website. Both are explained below.
2. Your artwork and app name
When you choose or drop an image, your browser reads the file so the generator can display previews, check dimensions, resize artwork, and create icon packages. Image pixels, filenames, your entered app name, and editing choices are used locally for those functions.
The generator does not send this content to an image-processing server, analytics service, or AI provider. It does not save your artwork to an account or use it to train models. The app name can appear inside generated resource filenames, the web manifest, and the download’s instructions.
Downloaded ZIPs and icons are saved through your browser. Where you store, sync, or share those files afterward is controlled by you and the services you choose.
3. Browser storage and cookies
We save your light or dark appearance choice in local storage under freeappicon-color-mode. This stores only the value “light” or “dark” so your preference carries across pages and visits. If no preference is saved, the app follows your device’s appearance setting.
You can change this preference using the navbar toggle or remove it by clearing this website’s local storage in your browser. If storage is blocked, the toggle still works for the current page, but your choice may not persist.
The application does not set tracking cookies or include advertising scripts, analytics trackers, or social-media tracking pixels. Fonts are served with the website rather than requested from a third-party font service. Your browser may cache ordinary website assets.
4. Website requests and hosting
To load the website, your browser requests pages, fonts, scripts, and the sample image from the hosting infrastructure. These requests expose technical information such as your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, and potentially a referring page.
We have selected Cloudflare Pages to host FreeAppIcon.com. Cloudflare may process technical request information to deliver the website, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Artwork processed locally by the generator is not included in those website requests.
Hosting provider: Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.).
Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, the operator must identify the basis for actual hosting and security processing and any safeguards that apply. This draft does not assume that selecting a theme or using the tool constitutes consent to unrelated data collection.
6. How long information remains
- Artwork and editing state: held for the current page session. Refreshing or closing the page clears the app’s current working state; this is not a promise of secure deletion from browser or device memory.
- Appearance preference: stays in browser local storage until you change it, clear site data, or the browser removes it.
- Downloads: stay wherever you save them until you delete them. The website cannot remove copies from your device or backups.
- Cached website assets: retained according to your browser and hosting cache settings.
The production hosting log-retention period is not yet configured. The operator must add the actual period or retention criteria before publishing this policy.
Contact messages remain in the support mailbox and may appear in email delivery records. The operator must confirm message-retention and deletion criteria before publishing this policy. The contact endpoint does not create a separate message database or log message bodies.
7. Your choices and rights
You choose which images to process. You can stop at any time, clear the current working state by refreshing the page, remove the saved theme using browser settings, and delete downloaded files yourself. The operator does not hold a server copy of locally processed artwork to retrieve or delete.
Depending on your location and the processing involved, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights can have conditions and exceptions. You may also be entitled to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Use the contact details below for requests concerning information the operator actually holds. Enough information may be needed to identify the relevant record and verify the request; do not send identity documents or sensitive files unless specifically necessary.
8. Security
Processing artwork locally reduces the need to transmit it. Your device, browser, extensions, download location, and any synchronization or backup services still affect its security. No website or device can promise absolute security. Keep software up to date and use care on shared devices.
9. Children’s privacy
FreeAppIcon is a general-purpose development tool and is not directed at children. It does not ask users to create profiles or submit their age. If you believe a child has supplied personal information directly to the operator, use the contact details below so the matter can be reviewed under applicable law.
10. Policy updates
We will update this policy when the service’s information practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. If accounts, analytics, advertising, server-side uploads, or other materially different processing are introduced, the policy and any necessary notices or choices must be updated before that processing begins.
